About Us
Who We Are

I founded Mellors Management Consultancy to bring the same rigour to two things most advisers treat separately: the numbers and the governance around them.

I'm a licensed accountant (AAT) and a practising board trustee - so the advice here isn't theoretical. It's built on what I do, week to week, in rooms where these decisions are made.

Two Ways We Help

Governance Advisory Board assessments, trustee training, and the proprietary governance frameworks behind this site, including the UQMA Framework™, the UQMA+ Model™, and Board Ready™, a readiness diagnostic for people preparing to apply for their first board seat. Whether you already sit on a board, you're responsible for the people who do, or you're working out if you're ready to apply, this is where we help you see clearly and act with confidence.

Accounting & Compliance MTD-compliant bookkeeping, VAT, accounts preparation, and financial governance support - including for CQC-registered care providers, where financial oversight and regulatory compliance sit unusually close together. If you'd rather run your business than manage your books, this is that service, done properly.

Many clients start with one and stay for both. The same discipline runs through each.

Why Choose Us

Practising, not theoretical. Every framework on this site comes from a live boardroom or a live set of accounts, not a template.

Published, not just promised. The UQMA Framework™ and UQMA+ Model™ are formally published with permanent DOIs under CC BY 4.0 — citable, verifiable, and open.

Both sides of the table. Running an independent practice means the accounting work is done by someone who answers to clients directly, not a hierarchy; trustee experience means the governance work is done by someone who has sat in the room being scrutinised, not just advised on it.

Proportionate, not generic. Whether it's a small business that wants its books handled properly, or a board that wants a genuine readiness diagnostic, the advice is sized to the organisation asking for it.
